230+ years ago mankind witnessed the birth of a new nation based upon simple yet profound principles.  In only 200 years this experiment with the democratic republic known as the United States of America, brought about more progress in the human condition than the world had seen in 5,000 years of recorded history.  The founding fathers did not agree on everything.  But through open discussion, debate and an adherence to the common values that we all still share, the world has witnessed in just 200 years, more prosperity and progress than ever before in recorded history.

 

In 1776 these principles, the constitution and future of our nation were discussed at most gatherings.  These days, we don’t discuss these principles.  Instead we discuss American Idol, which Hollywood stars are divorcing, and which politician has been caught in yet another sex scandal, or theft.  We don’t discuss or share the values and hopes we all hold common.

 

 

These days we are tired and angered with our government, we don’t trust our politicians and we are frustrated that the government no longer seems to understand us, or represent us.

 

  We are frustrated, tired and some have given up.  Some feel there is nothing they can do, some are frustrated that our fellow citizens are asleep, or don’t care.

Our founding fathers desired freedom from the bondage of an oppressive monarchy.  Through faith, they found great courage.  Through that courage they gained liberty and gave us the opportunity to obtain abundance.
